This week, Chinese heavy equipment manufacturers maintained robust global expansion momentum across three core sectors: heavy-duty trucks, construction machinery, and power systems. Leading brands including SANY, SDLG (LGMG), and Foton advanced global presence through exhibitions, market entry, localized upgrades, and technology partnerships, securing substantial progress in South America, Central Asia, Africa, and Europe. Adhering to green and intelligent dual-driven strategies, these enterprises enhanced global market share and brand influence with tailored products, localized services, and technological innovation, supporting high-quality overseas expansion of Chinese heavy equipment.
Recently, SANY Group signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Codelco, the world’s largest copper miner, and held a handover ceremony for electric heavy truck trial units, launching in-depth collaboration on green mining transformation. SANY’s electric heavy trucks successfully completed trial operations on Latin America’s longest heavy-haul downhill mining route—covering 680 km with over 2,500 meters of elevation gain—traversing the extreme Atacama Desert and verifying the feasibility of electric vehicles for long-distance heavy-load applications.
Equipped with high-torque electric drive and intelligent energy recovery systems, SANY’s E588 electric heavy trucks operated stably throughout the journey. Calculations show that each E588 unit powered by green electricity reduces over 100 tons of carbon emissions annually, aligning with Codelco’s sustainability goals. Codelco’s vice president praised the collaboration, and both parties will deepen cooperation in green mine development and carbon reduction technologies, with local media widely covering the milestone.
SANY Heavy Truck continues upgrading its global service network with an innovative “on-site support + 24/7 response + R&D collaboration” model, earning widespread customer recognition via its “Service Journey” campaign. Leveraging the world’s largest intelligent EV truck manufacturing base, SANY offers battery-swap and hydrogen-powered models, building a comprehensive overseas new energy service ecosystem.
On April 25, SANY and Xingsheng Mining launched electric heavy trucks at a ceremony in Hanoi, securing over 100 orders on-site. SANY EV trucks have been deployed domestically with 320 units in operation, logging 28.85 million kilometers and cutting energy costs by 30%, proving strong value for Southeast Asian green logistics.
From May 4 to 7, IFAT—the world’s premier environmental technology exhibition—took place in Munich. Foton exhibited new energy commercial vehicles and its BROCK sanitation brand, showcasing six models including the eAumark electric light truck, BROCK sweeper, and CAVAN intelligent sanitation vehicle. The eAumark features a 100.46 kWh CATL battery with 180 km range and 150 kW peak power; BROCK integrates German engineering with Foton’s electric drive for European municipal use.
Foton recorded a 94% YoY increase in European Q1 2026 orders, with new energy sanitation and logistics vehicles gaining mainstream traction. This participation strengthens Foton’s European position and advances Chinese new energy commercial vehicle exports.
On May 13, SANY Group delivered SE588 electric heavy trucks and SKT130S wide-body trucks to a leading Indonesian energy firm, holding a delivery ceremony and strategic talks. The first batch has operated at Indonesian mines since late 2025, with a 220-ton capacity, adapting to tropical rainforest conditions and earning praise for reliability and low costs.
Following the delivery, the parties plan hundreds more units for zero-carbon mines. Leveraging its Indonesian smart manufacturing base, SANY provides full-lifecycle EV truck services, strengthening China-Indonesia energy cooperation and supporting Southeast Asian mining green transition.
From April 27 to May 1, Agrishow—Latin America’s largest agricultural machinery exhibition—took place in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. Foton led its participation with “agri-logistics + new energy heavy trucks” as the core theme, attracting wide attention. The lineup featured the eGalaxus all-electric heavy tractor, upgraded agri-logistics trucks, efficient light-duty vehicles, and pickups, all tailored for Brazil’s soybean and sugarcane transport needs.
The eGalaxus, Foton’s flagship EV heavy truck for Brazil, delivers 475 hp, 40,000 Nm torque, a 600 kWh battery pack, and 450 km WLTP range, targeting long-haul and large-scale agri-logistics to advance green farming transport. Foton also displayed intelligent fleet management, localized parts support, and a 5-year warranty, addressing pain points of Western brands. Foton will make Brazil its South American hub, accelerating local KD assembly and service expansion.
Meanwhile, Shandong Heavy Industry exhibited tractors and construction equipment via Lovol and Shantui, offering integrated farm and infrastructure solutions. SDLG (LGMG) showcased 8 customized construction machines covering loaders and excavators, securing nearly 600 intended orders.
SDLG (LGMG) partnered with local firm TEKHAF to open a flagship store in Addis Ababa, themed “Building Tomorrow Together,” launching East African expansion. TEKHAF is a leading Ethiopian agricultural exporter with extensive local experience.
A key milestone: TEKHAF becomes SDLG’s first African dealer adopting the CRM system, boosting service efficiency via digitalization. The store will focus on local infrastructure and agriculture, offering full SDLG machinery and localized services.
This week, Chinese heavy equipment manufacturers delivered strong global performance across heavy-duty trucks, construction machinery, and power systems. SANY, SDLG, and Foton secured breakthroughs in South America, Central Asia, Africa, and Europe via exhibitions, partnerships, and localized launches. Adhering to green, intelligent, and localized strategies, they built global competitiveness. Moving forward, Chinese firms will deepen global penetration, expand local networks, and strengthen green tech exports.
